Maple Pecan Scones with Maple Butter

Scones Ingredients:

3 Cups Unbleached Flour

1 Cup Chopped Pecans

1 ½ Tbsp Baking Powder

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup (1 ½ Sticks) Cold Unsalted Butter

1/3 Cup Heavy Cream

2/3 Cup Thorn Hill Maple Syrup

Maple Sugar

Directions

Preheat Oven to 350°

Line baking sheet with parchment paper

Chop pecans if whole

Combine dry ingredients (flour, pecans, salt & baking powder)

Cut in butter by hand or until it resembles a coarse mixture

In a small bowl whisk together maple syrup and cream

Slowly combine wet ingredients to dry ingredients

Mix together until it forms a soft dough

Turn out onto lightly floured surface

Knead gently several times

Roll to 2 inch thickness with lightly floured rolling pin

Cut dough with a biscuit cutter

Place on a baking sheet a couple of inches apart

Use a brush to coat uncooked scones with maple syrup

Bake 15-20 minutes until golden brown

Remove from oven and sprinkle with maple sugar

Maple Butter

Ingredients:

1 stick of salted butter

¼ cup Thorn Hill Maple Syrup

Directions

In a small bowl whip butter and syrup together

Put into a serving bowl
